In the pantheon of the early Finns was a fierce god called Hiisi whose domain was hell. When this god became enraged, his strength and fightin prowess were tripled, but he lost all sense of reason and caution. Since Hiisi was a malevolent god, he would often possess unlucky Finns and cause them to become senselessly enraged much as he did. This is the precursor of today's "hissy fit".
