16. The Death of the Knight of Celano Once, when Francis was preaching at Celano, a knight from the neighborhood invited him for a meal. Foreseeing that the knight would soon die, Francis asked him to make his confession and to set his household affairs in order. As the guests were sitting down to table, the knight did suddenly die. He had made his confession, and so he entered heaven in a state of grace.
