Ceara ni Neill [KEE-rah nee NEEL]is a 29-year old 10th century Irish woman, descended of the great King Niall of the Nine Hostages (ruler of Ireland until his death in 540 c.e.).
It was this lineage, the Clan McNeill, that would settle the Isle of Barra at the western coast of lower Scotland in the 11th century to build the first Kisimul Castle.
Before coming to Meridies and Atlantia ten years ago, Ceara's home was a small castle overlooking the seashore in Meath, about 2 days travel north of Tara*. Her mother having died at childbirth, Ceara was raised by her father until his untimely death at the hands of Saxon bandits on the road near Clonmacnois.
